Boundaries
Maybe it is just me—
But this week seemed like it lasted longer than most. Just when I thought I had been given enough obstacles, even more showed up.
Whether these obstacles were people and their actions, complications with administrative tasks, or things that should be simple, not being so. I wondered even more if the obstacles were then complicated by my own reactions to them. Was I belaboring the annoyance of them, lingering to long on the injustice of my time not being valued as if the universe had conspired to make it so.
In any given day, people and circumstances will hand over their problems as if they are ours to take.
Some we will feel obligated to take and we are and we do. Some we are not obligated to take. It can sometimes be hard to tell the difference. They wash over us subconsciously and we take their form, often feeling their burden in the body and mind.
This can be a very large and consequential distraction. Utilizing our time and pulling us further and further from what problems we are interested in solving, capable, skilled at and possibly even placed here in all our potential and uniqueness to solve.
Boundaries work can be hard
I say all this because I don’t want you to get distracted. I have been feeling distracted. Boundaries work can be hard, but necessary. Sometimes we just need a reminder, a moment to pause, time on our mat—to recognize and remember why we are really here and what we feel meant to contribute.

I hope to see you this week on your mat.
Until then. ❤️
